Eaton County SEO has to serve two different markets. Delta Township and the county's part of Lansing search like metro Lansing, while Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Olivet and Bellevue search like small towns. Your Google profile and pages should be built for the side you serve.

Figures come from each client's published record, which states its reporting period and how results were measured. Past results belong to that client and are not a forecast.
Eaton County had 109,494 residents in 2024, and its largest community is not the county seat. Delta Township, a major community in metropolitan Lansing, had 33,211 people, far more than Charlotte's 9,301. Lansing's Eaton County portion added 5,091 more, and Grand Ledge had 7,838. Eaton Rapids, Potterville and Olivet are smaller towns with their own habits.
For SEO, that split decides who you compete with. On the Delta Township side, you share the map results with businesses across Lansing and Ingham County. That is a crowded field, and it rewards a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews and a website with one strong page per service. In Charlotte, Eaton Rapids and Olivet, fewer businesses compete for each search, and a local company with a finished profile and a few detailed reviews has a real opening.
Names cause trouble here. A business in Delta Township may use a Lansing mailing address, and customers may call the same spot Lansing, Delta or Grand Ledge. Pick one exact name and address for your profile, website and directory listings, then use the community names customers use in your page copy. The county had 2,182 business establishments in 2023, including 218 in construction, so contractors in particular should be consistent everywhere they are listed.
The first things we would work on, before spending more money on reach.
Set your service area and page plan around either the Lansing side, the small-town side or both, based on where your best jobs come from.
Match your business name, address and phone number on Google, your website, and the main directories, so nothing contradicts your profile.
On the metro side, each core service needs its own detailed page with real photos and answers, because Lansing competitors already have them.
In the smaller towns, a few recent reviews from local customers can carry a profile. Ask after every job and reply to each one.
The local market your marketing has to work in, from U.S. Census Bureau data.

Where we can help, and where to go next.
Clear terms before any work starts. Google Ads management has a six-month initial commitment, then runs month to month with 30 days written notice.
Bring what you have today. Nick will tell you what is working, what is not and what he would change first.
Use your address exactly as the post office writes it, and mention Delta Township in your copy where it fits. Customers search both ways, so a page that honestly names both matches more of them.
In Charlotte and the nearby towns, yes, because distance favors you in the map. Competing for searches inside Lansing is harder and takes strong service pages and reviews from customers there.
It depends on your margins and how many jobs you can take. For many trades and practices, a few extra calls a month cover the cost. We work through those numbers with you on the free strategy call.
No. We are based in Michigan and plan everything on video or phone calls. Our nearby work includes the websites for Michigan Trust & Estate Planning in Okemos and the MSU Entrepreneurship Association in East Lansing.
