Michigan State’s next founders start here. We built the front door.
Michigan State University is where a long list of real companies started. The Entrepreneurship Association is the room they started in: the speaker nights, the pitch competitions, the workshops and the trips that have turned ideas into ventures since 2006. In August 2026 it replaced a Google Sites page with something worth the name on the door. Modern Apex designed, built, and launched it.
Two decades of Michigan State entrepreneurship, behind a template.
The substance was all there. Two decades of speaker nights and pitch competitions on Michigan State’s campus, an executive board of nine, and a roster of ventures with Michigan State roots that reads like a startup index. What it had online was a Google Sites page.
Everything Michigan State’s entrepreneurship community actually is lived somewhere other than its website. The brief was to close that gap, in their own voice, without a single line of invented copy.
Programs · five ways in
Eight pages, one voice, zero stock photography.
Home, about, programs, events, executive board, join, sponsors, and contact. Eight pages built entirely from their own answers. Nine officers with their real titles and Michigan State majors. Five programs, from the speaker series to the regional and national trips.
The identity came from their existing brand guide, not from us. We honored it and traced the monogram into clean vector artwork instead of redrawing an identity that was already theirs.
Every image on the site was produced for the site. Nothing was bought from a stock library, because an organization that tells Michigan State students to build something original should not have a website assembled from other people’s pictures.
Executive board · nine officers, real titles
Live inside a single board meeting.
Most agencies hand a client a list of DNS records and wish them luck. The site was a Google Sites page and the domain records lived at Wix, so the cutover runbook was written against that before anything moved.
The switch ran during the board’s evening call. Records swapped, certificate issued and verified, every page and asset checked before anyone hung up. The old site stayed published the entire time as a one move rollback that was never needed.
Join · three steps and you are in
This is the roster the site had to stand next to.
Michigan State keeps producing companies, and the association keeps the list. We did not write it and we take no credit for it. We just had to build something that looked like it belonged on the same page.
Ventures with Michigan State roots, as listed by the association
How it was built.
Their brand, not ours
The association arrived with a real brand guide. We built inside it and traced the monogram into clean vector artwork instead of inventing a new identity.
Facts in one file
Every name, title, date, and link on the site lives in a single source file. When an officer changes, one line changes, and the whole site follows.
Made, not stocked
The imagery and the monogram artwork were produced for this site. Nothing on it came from a stock library.
Handed over, not held
The association owns the domain, the repository, and the content. Nothing about this site is hostage to the agency that built it.
Michigan State got the standard. So does your business.
The association got the same process every Modern Apex client gets: the brand work, the build, the launch runbook, and the verification pass. One standard, whether the name on the door is Michigan State or a two truck shop. Book fifteen minutes and we will show you what it builds for you.
